Induction was Scheduled!!

It started out on Tuesday April 30th at my 38 week appointment, we were so excited, we were so close to being done!! Everything was going good, I was only dilated to a one & a half but my Dr. decided it would be a great time to talk about scheduling an induction, no medical reason, just did not want me to go the full 40 weeks. It was a very scary thought but then again it was a great idea, since we would for sure have a baby by Cinco De Mayo! So that was the date I was to go in and get induced, Sunday MAY 5th!! OMG, How cute would that be? A little Mexi baby born on a delicious Mexican Holiday! I could not wait to tell the world!!
I returned to work Wednesday May 1st, I was talking to the girls about their birth stories & how I just felt off that day. They all kept on teasing me & telling me the baby was going to come before my induction date & what I needed to do to kick start labor! One of my co-workers said I needed to eat greasy food. LOL! But Some fried chicken Tacos did sound BOMB dot COM! So there you have it after work I went home & cooked husband & I a delicious Mexican feast with all the works. While eating dinner I kept getting these cramps here & there nothing big, so I didn't mention it to my husband. I just kept chowing down what I could, which to my disappointment was only about 3 tacos. Another reason this baby needed to be out! I could barely eat & man do I like to get down on some food!
That night before going to bed I told Bryan I kept on getting little cramps & we should just go to bed early. We went to bed & MAN was I a mess in my sleep! I kept getting woken up to these sharp cramps, which I kept on ignoring since sleep was much needed. I finally woke up to a really painful contraction around 5 o'clock in the morning, I went to the bathroom, saw some blood in the toilet (sorry TMI!) & woke husband up! I told him in my confused/shocked/sleepy state of mind that I thought we needed to head to the hospital but first I needed to shower! That's when hubby started counting my contractions, they were coming 7 mins apart. YIKES
We finally got to the hospital around 7 am. The hospital that we went to was great, they hooked me up to the monitor & did their testings. My contractions had slowed down at that point, we thought for sure we were going to get sent back home. When the testings came back, they discovered that my water had broke! Oh man, we were not going to be sent home & this was not a false alarm!!!
What better day to have a BABYYY!!!

The weather was Perfect! Well at least for us. It was raining and chilly, and some how it managed to snow that day?! It was definitely perfect Washington weather.
After being in the hospital for a few hours I was hooked up to some Pitocin, that's when my contractions started coming in left & right, I seriously had 7 contractions in 10 mins. Please believe I jumped on that epidural wagon as soon as it came my way! After that I felt as if things were starting to slow down for me, but not for Baby... Every time I would have a contraction his heart rate would drop. I was placed on oxygen, I was moved to different positions- finally one of the Dr's came in & told me they wanted to monitor the baby better by putting an internal monitor next to baby's head.

Once they did that baby's heart rate was doing well for about five mins, after that, his heart rate dropped in the 70's & kept dropping...
All of a sudden all these nurses came in the room & unhooked me from everything & ran me down to the Operating Room. I WAS GOING IN FOR A C-SECTION! All I could think of was the little baby inside me & where the heck they left my husband! I wanted my husband next to me & our baby to come out just fine!!
It seemed like forever, but it only took about 5 minutes, they had Bryan next to my side & then they had that baby came out just fine!!

Emerson Bradley Sears, 6lbs 3oz & 19 inches long entered this world May 2nd at 1:55pm. The little bean did not want to wait on his Cinco De Mayo Celebration.
